I want to be…

‘I want to be…’ is a participatory art activity inspired by Candy Chang’s “Before I die…”

What’s it all about?

Sometimes decision-makers forget whose future they’re talking about. Let’s remind them.

If we could do ‘I want to be’ events all around the country, we could build an amazing picture of young people’s hopes and dreams for the future.

It can also be a great way to start conversations about Green Jobs, and a clean, fair future. How could your dream job be a Green Job?

Sometimes, in the big messy process of sorting out climate change, our core values get forgotten. Asking ‘What do you want to be?’ asks people to search their values, and puts what we really value in life at centre stage.

The first of many?

The results of our first ‘I want to be’ were pretty amazing. We found a huge diversity of hopes and dreams, all of which could be part of a cleaner, fairer future for us all.

‘I want to be…’ has begun in a regular college in South Glocuseter.

What would you discover if you did an ‘I want to be’ activity in your town, college, workplace, school or university?

Wanna do one of these?

To do an ‘I want to be’ wherever you are, you can…
